Learning for Life is funded via European Social Fund through Objective 1 in South Yorkshire, LSC, LSDA, DfES, Area Wide and Pathfinder monies. Sheffield secondary schools also make a contribution to the cost of external work related learning placements.

Each Sheffield secondary and special school has a small budget plan to support work related learning. The CYPS ( Children and Young People's Service) also subsidises extensive external training placements within the Vocational Skills Programme. Each school has a Service Level Agreement which explains this arrangement.
