All of Sheffield's 27 secondary schools and special schools are involved in the Learning for Life programme which helps support all aspects of work related learning in the city for pupils aged 14-19.

The curriculum manager in each school attends regular meetings in order to keep up to date with Work Related Learning issues and share best practice across the city.

An extensive Work Related Learning training programme for teachers, trainers and support workers has been running since September 2000. These courses are free to schools as they are funded by European Social Fund through Objective 1 in South Yorkshire.
